Many South Carolina public school employees receive dental coverage through the South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA). Eligibility depends on your position and your district, so your district’s benefits office is the best place to confirm what applies to you.
PEBA offers two dental options, Basic Dental and Dental Plus. According to PEBA’s 2026 dental overview, Basic Dental has no provider network, so you may choose any dentist, though a provider may bill you for the difference between its fee and the plan’s allowed amount. Dental Plus uses a network and pays at higher allowed amounts. The same overview lists exams, cleanings, and X-rays as covered at 100 percent of the plan’s allowed amount with no deductible.

Because Dental Plus relies on a network, we encourage you to call our office before you book so our team can confirm how your plan applies. We file claims for you with most major dental insurance plans, and we are happy to talk through your options.

Routine visits at our office may include an exam, a cleaning, X-rays as needed, and an oral cancer screening. If your exam shows something that needs attention, our team can review your treatment options with you.
